Oars at the ready! Egniol are competing in the St David’s Hospice Dragon Boat Challenge for the third consecutive year

On Saturday 1st July 2017, Egniol’s team of adventurous paddlers will be competing on Llyn Padarn, Llanberis, for the St David’s Hospice Dragon Boat Challenge.

Following on from a fantastic 2nd place finish in 2015 and missing out on the final by less than a second in 2016, Egniol will be trying to better previous results whilst also aiming to raise at least £1,000 for this great cause. An enjoyable day on the water is bound to be had by all, with competition coming in the shape of many other teams from across north Wales and beyond.

The event has been growing every year and with over 25 teams competing 2017, with organisers confident of raising over £30,000.

As part of our efforts to raise money, we have set up a JustGiving page for all donors: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Egniol-Environmental

All sponsorship, no matter how big or small, is greatly received.

For more information or to sponsor the team, please contact Peter Dilworth or Richard Furniss or visit our Social Media pages.

Dr Richard Furniss, Senior Consultant at Egniol Environmental, was recently invited by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) to give a presentation to final year students at Bangor University studying environmental degrees on life working as a consultant in the waste industry.

Richard, himself a graduate of Bangor University at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, joined other speakers from various groups including Natural Resources Wales and the Sustainability Lab aiming to inspire future graduates into taking up a career in the waste management industry and highlighting the role the CIWM plays for professionals.

Whilst giving an overview of his career to date, work undertaken by Egniol and general life the field of consultancy, Richard also focused on a re-use based project which Egniol undertook for a local authority to appraise various options for the re-use of items brought by the public to a local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
